Nepal is a country of mountains. There are a number of high peaks in the Himalayas. Including th3 world's first and third peaks Everest and Kanchanjunga respectively, there are many mountains above 8,000 metres. Every year many tourists come to climb or trek on these mountains. Many snow-fed rivers of Nepal such as Trishuli and the Kali Gandaki are ideal for rafting. So Nepal is a suitable place for adventure tourism.    


The northern belt of Nepal is famous not only for climbing on high mountains; it's also equally famous for trekking. Annapurna Conservation Area, that falls mostly under the Himalayan region, is one of the top 12 trekking sites of the world. With a view to attracting trekkers from round the world, the government of Nepal announced the great Himalayan Trail (GHT) in 2011, the year which was marked officially as the Nepal Tourism Year. This tail is the highest and longest alpine walking track of the entire world. The trail runs from Humla and Darchula in the West to Kanchanjunga in the east along which lie major trekking sites such as Annapurna, Lang
